IISE at NIU is open to all engineering majors, regardless of experience level. Whether you’re exploring engineering for the first time or already thinking about internships and leadership opportunities, this organization is for students who want to grow beyond the classroom. If you’re curious, motivated, and interested in building skills, connections, and confidence alongside a supportive community, you’ll fit right in.

Getting involved with our chapter is simple:

2. Join on HuskieHub to become a member
3. Stay connected and participate at your own pace
You do not need prior experience to get started — just an interest in learning and getting involved.

National IISE Membership
The NIU IISE Student Chapter is affiliated with the national Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE).
National IISE membership is encouraged but not required to attend meetings or get involved with the chapter.
Becoming a national IISE member provides additional benefits such as:
-Access to national conferences and competitions
-Career resources and publications
-Eligibility for certain awards, scholarships, and leadership
Students can choose to become national members at any time, and we’re happy to help guide you through the process if you’re interested.
